Week 4 (Jan 4 - 8, 2010) 
All Grades:
Typing for 5 minutes (keep your hands covered)
- If you would like to retake the typing tests-see Mr. W for a lunch pass on Wednesday of this week.
- Proficiency means:
- 6th grade = 20 wpm 90% accuracy
- 7th grade = 25 wpm 90% accuracy
- 8th grade = 25 wpm 95 % accuracy
6th Grade:
- Inventors Research
- PART I - Choosing an Inventor to Study
- Survey Inventors by visiting http://www.enchantedlearning.com/inventors/
- Complete the Inventors Survey Document (print from here or see Mr. W for a copy).
- Choose a first and second choice for an inventor you would like to research for this project. Circle them on your Inventors Survey Document. Clip into your folders.
- Meet with Mr. W to confirm your choice.
- PART II - Research
- Collect Notes about your inventor.
- Use the attached Word Document or create your own, leaving space between them for your notes.
- Start you research by using the BSD Eresearch Tools.
- Copy and Paste or paraphrase information and collect it all in your Word Document. Remember to cite your sources!
- Save to your work to documents, eaccess or your usb drive OR in all of these.
7th Grade:
- Begin HTML unit
- Go to http://stollertlc.org
- Find the TLC Links and click on the "Learn HTML" link.
- Read the Introduction and Chapters 1-3.
- Complete the "HTML/XHTML Introduction Assignment" Worksheet.
- Create firstpage.html - This begins in Chapter 4 of Learning HTML for Kids.
- Save your firstpage.html in Eaccess into a new folder titled, "html".
8th Grade:
- Inventions Study
- Engineering Notebooks setup on Tuesday. You need a spiral notebook or composition book.
- Keyring Key Idea! Why didn't I think of this.
- Invention Vocabulary Worksheet – finish in class and put in your folder. If you do not finish in class on Tuesday, take it home and finish it.
- Invention Partnership Contracts and Parent Letters-Return Signed by Monday, Oct 5th.
